Boatsurvey Friesland is a marine surveying service that provides expert marine surveys for pleasure craft, both sailboats and motorboats. We are located in The Netherlands and provide our service in The Netherlands and the rest of Europe. The Netherlands is an excellent place to buy a boat. There are always lots of good quality boats on the 2 hand market. If you found the perfect boat for you it may be wise to have a pre-purchase survey conducted. Pre-purchase surveys are our main area of expertise. A pre-purchase survey is an complete in-depth survey of the entire vessel, including a sea-trial and hoist. You get a detailed report in PDF, with pictures, with a complete list of faults and recommendations. This way you will know exactly what you are buying, for a boat is not a small purchase. We also indicate the essential faults which give you grounds to break-up the contract. (Should there be any) A list of checkpoints you can find at the bottom of this page.

Services;
Full pre-purchase survey
A full in-dept survey of the entire ship with sea-trail, hoist and detailed report in PDF with lots of pictures, in English. Apart from the technical and Nautic elements we also check the paperwork and legal issues. On polyester ships we check for moisture in the hull/deck, osmoses and delamination. On steel ships a sounding of the hull is a standard part of the full pre-purchase survey.
Partial surveys
Osmoses inspection
Here we conduct an inspection of the underwater ship only. The polyester hull is checked for moisture, osmoses and delamination. This inspection comes with a complete report in PDF, in English.
Hull sounding
On steel ships we conduct a sounding of the hull and a inspection on the outside and on the inside of the ship. This inspection comes with a complete report in PDF, in English.
Gas-installation survey
A safe gas-installation on board a ship is very important. With the gas survey we check your gas-installation according to the Dutch HISWA checklist. We check according with the European NEN-EN-ISO 10239 standard. This survey comes with a HISWA certificate.
Counter expertise
When you are not in agreement with a survey, repair or refit conducted by another party we can assist you with our technical expertise. We can also mediate with the involved party’s on your behalves.
Refit
If you have a refit of you boat done by multiple party’s it may be wise to have an expert oversee the entire process to insure your desired outcome. We can oversee the refit and communicate and advice on your behalves.
Prices
Prices of the surveys depend on the length of the boat and the location.
